Cinders - a romantic fairytale VN
Cinders - a romantic fairytale VN
A beautiful new take on the tale of Cinderella, with lush graphics and a lot of surprises in store.
A story about balancing freedom and dreams with circumstance and harsh reality; about growing up and finding out the true meaning of independence. Distancing itself from the judgmental simplicity of the original, Cinders tries to explore the more complex nature of oppression, responsibility and innocence.
The game focuses on characters and their motivations, and is heavy on player choices and role-playing. With 120 decision points and over 300 options to choose from, Cinders allows you to shape the main character’s personality and the course of the story.

For anyone hesitating -> the game is awsome.
Finally, a fairytale that makes the main female portagonist a normal rational person and not the usuall slightly useless lady waiting for the rescue.
Its an amazing twist from the original version of the story, and you have such a varity of different possible endings that may change because of just one decision...
The only thing I'm having trouble with, is reaching all the endings (because of such complicated branched structure), and there is no official guide or walkthrough.

You're right, there isn't any official walkthrough...However, on the official websites forum there is actually a guide that gives you tips on the type of endings you can get. Like whatever choice you make can change Cinders personality completly.
Here's the link if you're interested: http://moacube.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=23&t=2768
Also if you're interested in getting the right answers for each of the individual guys in the game, here's something that's being worked on as we speak

I got this game two days ago, and I thoroughly enjoyed it. (:
Admittedly, it was a little tough to stray away from Perrault once I found out how awesome the character was. Q o Q Dem belts. <3 However, I DID manage to get all of the endings. The flexibility of the story is absolutely fantastic. ^_^
The art in this game was superb! The scenery and the characters are painted in such a way that it gave the game a very Brother's Grimm feel to it, which really suited the somewhat darker themes of the game.
Thank you, Hanako! x

Considering it was just released that's unlikely.I wonder if they're going to mark down the price soon.
I wouldn't be surprised if the price drops eventually or if there's a special sale at some point (and if I hear about it, it'll be in the newsletter) but I would not expect the price to go down for real within the next few months.
I don't know, though, it's not my game. Can only guess.

The demo seems interesting, but I have a few questions.
1) About how long does a single playthrough take?
2) With the variations in the endings... I noticed on the title screen that there seem to be four 'main' endings, with different variations. Is it like Cute Knight Kingdom, where your decisions/skills affect it, even if you end up with one particular guy?
I have never played a game that was 'pure' visual novel before (no stat-raising, minigames, etc...) but this seems intriguing. I just want to make sure I get enough playtime out of it to justify spending >$20.

Hi
.
Tom, the developer of Cinders here.
A single playthrough takes from 4 to 6 hours to finish, depending on how fast your read, the routes you pick, etc.
There are four main ending paths, each with several variants within. So, for instance, Cinders becoming a queen is one of the main paths. But what queen she has become, who is her lover, who is her advisor, is she a cruel ruler or a dreamer with connections to the fairy realm - those are different variants of that ending. It took our players from 10 to 20 hours to see them all.
Hope it helps. Thanks for trying our game
