Long time lurker, first time poster
I ran across this link today, and thought it would be of interest to this community (VN, life-sim, dating-sim, and PM-like games). It is a study of the old Choose Your Own Adventure Books, and it looks at how stories were set up to be branching, and the balance between the multiple possible endings being great, good, horrible, etc. Definitely worth a read for branching-story authors.
