Nicole - Mystery Otome Game

#1 Post by hanako » Mon Nov 25, 2013 4:00 pm

Nicole is an ordinary girl starting her freshman year at the school of her dreams. Studying, dressing up, earning money in her part-time job, meeting cute new boys, raising her skills, it's all part of the college life!

... Except that other students from her campus have been mysteriously disappearing. And if she's not careful, Nicole might be next.

This is a life sim where you balance stat-raising and socialising with your love interests vs trying to solve the mystery of what's really going on around the university before it's too late. Could one of the pretty boys she's making friends with be the culprit? (Well, yes, probably. But WHICH ONE?)

More information, screenshots, and free demo available here

This game is available for PC, Mac, and Linux. There are currently two versions, one with some bonus content like the soundtrack. It's expected that another version will come out sometime next year featuring datable female character, but right now it's all boys for Nicole.

Winter Wolves is having a Christmas sale right now (1 day remaining, 50% off all games) so it's a perfect opportunity to snatch this game for about 12 dollars!

I'll be honest, I loved it. Beautiful artwork, nice story, AMAZING writing (pretty much the best writing I've seen in visual novels in a while), what's not to love? The fact that the pantagonist of the story was attractive, interesting and opinionated contributed to the likeness of this game too.
There WERE some letdowns (personally for me the whole mystery thing was too predictable (and they could have done SO MUCH MORE with the original idea) and I craved for more CG art (there were very few, to be honest)) but the game still managed to impress me.

At least try the demo out! It's worth it.

Thanks for the info. I bought it and am playing it right now. It gives the player much more days than he/she needs, but other than that, it is one of the best I've bought in a while. As long as we're making suggestions, I'd just like to put out there that Heartstring Bugs, while being even longer than this game, is very high quality for freeware in my opinion. :) Most free ones I find last about ten minutes each run maybe.
