Exam 7 Tips and Tricks

#1 Post by hanako » Sun Oct 06, 2019 8:01 am

Use this thread to post solutions, secrets, and other items of interest you've found in the seventh exam. Or, if you're stuck, post your list of spells and ask for advice.

Please do not post bugs here, those go in the main development thread!

This exam features some red dwarves.

This one is a toughie I've only really found one reliable way to do this, and it's on my black/blue build. But it requires a frankly ridiculous amount of mana Use teleevoke to clear the first purple thing, explore past it, then go back. Teleport the stone pillar into place in front of the path you just explored, turn it into a wall then just advance down the other path tanking the purple thing, and I had just enough mana to teleport the mothmen out to the trapped path then just leisurely escorted my red friend back to his people

A less merit-y way if your just after a path to get it done... I got super frustrated on my white/red build having no real way of managing the mothmen as they both had too much hp for me to defeat since I had been neglecting my red magic too much, and lacking teleevoke I just went down the path to the cage using light, and tanking the hit of purple then just kinda let the red guy out, and tanked damage from the mothmen to keep the heat off him as best I could.

For what it's worth I just teleported the mothmen onto the other path - didn't need to block it off with the pillar, apparently they were far enough away that the gate opening didn't wake them.

Huh I wouldn't have thought just that'd work. It at least saves mana, and would let you not have to tank either of the two purple things. So I tip my hat to you as your more clever than I was on this exam.

It's possible with relatively low blue magic if you make your magic less than your hp to tank the purple glow, then silence the gate. If the Mothmen don't hear the gate, they don't wake up.

They do wake up after a bit and attack though, if you take too long and don't do something to block that path.

Another way to get through this is to cast Sleep twice right after they wake up. They might get one hit in, but you'll definitely be able to make it through the dungeon at least.

Oh, and I discovered a way to take just a quarter of the normal damage from the purple glow. Casting Long Jump to get through that space is very helpful for Red/Green builds.
