0.6.27.1 Update

* New scenes added up to Feb 2nd
* trophy_unlock screen now transient, will be discarded automatically when
saving. Won't fix warnings on old saves.
* SmartInputs now bring up the onscreen keyboard when clicked with the
controller.
* SmartInput lookup code cleaned up, now searches all the screens for
widgets with the correct ID and returns the first one found.
* Fixed a crash in tutorial6 caused by level wrapping.
* Dialog box falls out properly when you hear raised voices outside in week1.
* Crash when you're damaged by the lightning trap fixed.
* Transferring a charm to a wall now correctly brings up the wall facet
chooser.
* Some fiddling with the Lightning anim.
* Stubs for check to see if we're ALMOST getting through the portal.
* Fixed a bug where saves made in the dungeon would, on load, automagically
re-show the menu.
* Debug messages trimmed.
* No longer allow you to enter an active portal through examine when you've
got no HP left.
* Should now give custom scene for when the wolf kills you as you step through
the portal.
* Dialog box when we run over to Snake Hall to see Barbara in week21.
* "Look anything +like dead bushes" looking at the metal shirts.
* Fixed a missing Potsdam sprite in week21.
* Fixed save warnings complaining about DisappearCorpse.
* Fixed save warning complaining about chose_week21_barbara.
* some e's swapped.
* Rendering now checks to see if you're in a bigcell or a niche cell; if
you're in a niche, it shoves you back to the bigcell you're facing away
from. This works around a bug where walking through the portal flips
bigcell/niche status (and hence draws the wall at the end of the tunnel
as a diggable dirt cube instead of a blastable wall.). The cause is that
the portal effect triggers when you pass through the niche it's in.
It's possible that other animations that might get triggered while walking
would do this too; if so, this change will fix them too.
* Dialog box falls out when you run away from Damien.
* Dialog box falls out on the transition into the Jan 25 Damien date.

New scenes include: hockey, ellen, minnie, book club, barbara, raven, william, damien

That's roughly how I'm trying to work it, yes, but it's a tricky line to walk. There's also balance issues of trying not to be either too overwhelming or too infrequent with the pronouns, to help players get used to them. Plus, in dialog, there's the question of who's actually speaking, and who are they speaking to, which will affect their language choices. So yeah, some of these lines have already been thought about and decided not to go that way, but it's still worth bringing them up in case things slip through, doesn't hurt me to double-check.
Grabiber uses e/em/eir pronouns sometimes, though, which is why I quoted some of his lines that did not use those pronouns. Furthermore, Gary Stu uses the e/em/eir pronouns when referring to persons of unknown sex. I hope, in any case, that my notes about these pronouns were useful.

Alright, I'm caught up again! Really looking forward to seeing where things end up—this is getting exciting!

Date with Ellen. The previous line to this one refers to events that happened in the past, so it should be like -> liked.

The kiss scene with Damien does not include Glasses if they are equipped.
Additionally, the line immediately after this doesn't scroll up with the window and instead starts appearing in the empty space as the window scrolls up. The expected behavior occurs only a couple lines before this.

Scene with William. Both commas create splices. The second could be kept if you added something "especially"-esque following it.

During William's birthday celebration, upon his return with food, he says "Dinner is prepared." If this is just a nod to RHPS, don't mind me, but "Dinner is served" is otherwise likely the more-known phrasing?

In Exam 5, is it intentional for the wolf to become hostile if you ignore it entirely, use Inspection on the pillar, safely interact with it and the medallion, and leave? The wolf never seems to move from its starting location in this circumstance (and I did sit at the gate after teleporting self to it and hit wait about 30 times—so the wolf definitely doesn't follow you), and then Potsdam makes the comment regarding the wolf being hostile. Shouldn't the wolf follow you in that circumstance?

If you teleported straight out of its sight, it doesn't know where you went, so it can't follow you. It's still annoyed, though. We're fiddling around with how far the sound of it growling travels to clearly indicate that you've made it unhappy.

I haven't had time to play through everything of last update, but there is this typo when you go to the dinner with William and Virginia.

"He's my senior, he's *ben* looking out for me since initiation. Why wouldn't I hang out with him?"

I finally got caught up on the different routes after not playing for a bit (was just busy with other stuff in life) and am so happy with all of the new content! I am really enjoying each of the main routes and how the characters are developing. :D

The only error I've noticed that hasn't been commented on already is that when you see Kyo singing to Minnie, it describes him as a dark-haired person in Falcon Hall robes, even though he should be in Wolf Hall.

"resarching" typo in the follow-up scene with Ellen after the Dark Dance.

Waldenbooks went bankrupt in 2011. B. Dalton's went bankrupt in 2010.

I flunked the portal exam and discovered that I still had the medallion in my inventory. Is that supposed to happen?

I enjoy the references to characters that we don't see in the game. It makes the social environment seem more real and I'm looking forward to meeting these folks in the future. When playing Horse Hall, I pictured Barbara as being a red-haired girl with a long ponytail. I got the red hair right (sorta), but was completely wrong about everything else. I wonder how different Mikey, Jamal, and the rest of the gang will be from my mental pictures of them.

I know what year this game takes place. :) I tend not to state the exact year because I don't want people to be too distracted thinking about the events that would have gone on in our world (not necessarily in the game because who knows how magic might change things) but it's possible to figure it out from clues. It's also because they're safely out of the picture now that I'm willing to actually say their names, where I usually dance around trademarks.

When you say 'in your inventory' do you mean, like, when you go to a practice dungeon afterwards? Or what? (It sounds like a bug, I'm just not quite sure what happened.)

(edit: yeah, I think that's what you mean, it shows up if you go to a saturday dungeon later. will poke.)

Yes, the medallion is present at the top of the screen if you go to the practice dungeon after getting the medallion but failing the exam. You will also see the medallion (described as "A large golden disk with mysterious carvings") when you select "Inventory" on the Sundays before the week begins.

0.6.31 Update

* New scenes through Feb 9
* Kyo's robes corrected to be Wolf Hall.
* William's no longer 'ben' looking out for us.
* Timestamp on week23 Monday.
* Minnie late-night event moved to the 3rd.
* resarch typo fixed.
* Spirit invitation tweaked for e/they reasons.
* Any Medallions should now be removed from your inventory when you exit exam5. If you have them still in your inventory from old saves, they should be cleared out the next time you enter a dungeon.
* Fixed crash on bingo rolls and the bingo diary entry.
* Fixed crash in Unit.DumpItems.
* Ghost animation tweaked.
* Punctuation fix.
* Force Wall now stops eyebiters instead of owl-witches.
* Scrubber for chose_week21_gift added.

This is a lighter week than the previous, but it does contain one major event some people have probably been looking forward to for a while. Scenes include mostly Minnie and Ellen, plus Bingo, and a bit of William and Barbara.

So I ran into a very odd bug. The second time bingo happens I can't say no even if I do I still go to it.

Whoops, looks like it fails to end the event and return to the normal schedule so it just went on to the next scene in the script.

Typo when Gary is thinking about buying a birthday gift for William: I remember the wolf's-head bracelet gave me for Initiation in the fall.

Bizarre Dispel Object bug: If I cast it on the portal, it loses its enchantment and I have no choice but to give up in order to get out of the dungeon. But once I'm back in the regular world, the stat bar that shows my spell mastery, merits, cash, etc is completely gone. Grabiner changes my merits and the merit bar comes back. I take a class and the stress bar comes back, as does the spell mastery bar for that class. Once a new week begins, all the stat bars go back to appearing as they normally do. This bug only happens when I cast Dispel Object in the manner described above. Casting it on the pedestal doesn't do anything weird to the stat display.

0.6.36 update

* New scenes added through February 16
* Now actually skip the bingo scene if we have no money or say no.
* PyreUnits initialized, should fix a bug where levers+fire could crash (though
I didn't reproduce the original bug)
* Crash killing lichen-like units (Vines, probably) fixed.
* 'Low Money' effect tab now hides after you buy your card.
* Stagger works now.
* Statbar should now return when Grabby yells at you for disabling the portal
in exam5.
* Crash when clicking 'Undo' multiple times after assigning and clearing a
quickspell fixed.
* Manually assigning quickspells no longer autofills empty slots in the
quick-cast bar with other known spells.
* Training/Patrol Dummies now reported as rolling when they move around
(assuming they're on a walkable cell and not flying.)
* Debug messages trimmed.
* Trophies now come in from the side.
* Wolf's-head bracelet +he gave me for Initiation.
* Fade the volume back up after Damien kisses us on Feb 1.
* How the f were clothes offset by 100px in the boykiss CGs without us
noticing? Fixed.
* Skipping in the Feb 4-5 Musette screen should no longer leave her sprite
invisible.

New scenes include a lot of Valentine's Day, scenes for all main routes, a minor Luke-route scene, a Book Club meeting, and the New Year ceremony. People on William's route may have some questions to ask..

Is there a just-friends path for Minnie? I felt like I had very little control over my character's sudden romantic interest in her.
