Has anyone been experimenting with the color charms from the mall yet and seen what they do?
I've bought the blue charm but I haven't noticed everything so far! From Grabiners comment in game I assumed it meant I would skill up quicker in blue when I take blue lessons but I don't think it's actually made a difference so far...

Also, has anyone managed to win the president race yet? I keep losing to Minnie no matter what I do...

Have you equipped the charm in your inventory?

Wearing a color charm means that:
* Instead of earning 1-2 points in every lesson of that color, you earn 2-3. Small effect, but big over time.
* All spells of that color cost a lot less mana to cast! That can make a big difference in exams.

I've got the same scene with Barbara twice. The scene is the one after she had fainted during the dark dance (when she heals her hands). I've visited the dungeon in two different weekends (before the third exam), and got the same scene.

I managed to become co-president with her.. I don't think I can count that as a full win xD

Also, should we report typos in this tread? After you ask William if Damien seduced him, he says, "I thought we we were in love. I would have followed him anywhere."

That is the best result possible :) (And necessary to pursue her route.)

And yes, telling me typos here is good!

Really loving the Wolf Hall beta so far!! I haven't run into too many bugs yet, and I think all the ones I have have already been reported here. Although with the Raven library diary entry, when that scene happened, it actually did happen twice, which I assumed was why it then got recorded in my diary twice.

More generally about the gameplay, it feels a little frustrating that there doesn't seem to be much benefit plot-wise or mechanics-wise to be a generalist instead of a specialist; that's what I did my first playthrough and I found myself stuck with no means of success in exam 3, despite having at least 10 points in all magics and 15ish in my favorite colors (blue and white). I seem to be failing a lot at classes and studying, too, starting when my stress is above 10, and sometimes even when it's below that. If stress goes above 15 I fail more than I succeed. I feel like the stress threshold should be higher than that, especially since the MC is apparently a prince of some sort. You'd think he'd be used to needing to succeed under much higher stress levels!

Has anyone found yet if there's a way to become student council president without making the deal with Minnie? I've been trying a lot of different things and haven't managed it yet. EDIT: This got answered while I was typing this lol! Too bad it's not possible right now, I'd really like to be able to win it, or even start getting brownie points with classmates at the beginning of the school year like Minnie does. I liked Minnie in the first game, but thus far in WH I'm really meh on her. This is very YMMV but for me, her winning student council president no matter what isn't enjoyable. It made sense in HH, because the MC wasn't able to run and her opponent was no competition, but if I can compete against her, I want to be able to win!! (Maybe because I'm kind of a competitive person myself, lol.)

I hope Blaise and Taranis will both be voting options for the additional romances! I adore Blaise, and I can't help but want to learn more about Taranis after the narrative keeps emphasizing that MC should avoid him!

Hello!! I'm loving the game so far : ) I've played it two times and I love how diverse these options branch out to; feels like there's always something new for me to discover
I've had a couple of bugs in the games, which have been addressed in previous replies. It just irked me that some save files could not load properly so I had to replay the whole thing : (

One thing that tipped me off is that I had a hard time passing the exam during my first gameplay. I tend to alternate classes from two to three colours, whereas passing the exams require very specific specialisation in one colour. The answers were more obvious when I talked to Minnie after the first exam, when she mentioned that there is a way out for each magic colour. So maybe it would be better to mention this need for specialisation at the start? I specialised in green magic during the first play and I could get through all the exams quite easily. I tried black magic for the second play and I passed all except the last one (the one with the abyss. I didn't know how to get through them with the black spells I had so far. Tried stone shaping but they didn't allow me to shape into a bridge or something similar??)

Other than the dungeon exams, I think some UX issues could be fixed. I couldn't save during an exam or when I need to pick classes, which I thought are important checkpoints. And when picking the classes for the week, is it possible to show the overall status bar at the top? As it is now, we need to hover over each class to see how many points we have in those specific area and it's a bit of a hassle especially when I want to compare points.

I used the charms and they gave more 2-3 points when taking lessons with them! And less failed lessons, if I'm not wrong?? (or maybe it's just my feeling hh)
I didn't notice that less mana were needed to cast them,
but that's a really good addition!

I'm loving everything else though. I will probably be replaying again with a different colour specialisation (it's pretty fun to try out the different routes of passing the exams hhh)
I'm super excited to see more scenes and the endings with each romance option!!

Exam 2 -Is it possible to beat the exam with
Red: Breeze
Blue: Light, Farsight, Silence, True Sight
Green: Diagnosis
Black: Inspection, Inscription, Trigger
White: Spirit Sense
?

Sometimes I feel very unsure if it is possible to beat the stage with the current spells. I know exam 2 should be possible if you specialize in everything except white magic, but I'm walking around throwing spells and inspecting but I can't solve it.. I can push the button/use Trigger on it but the gas resumes at next turn. I used farsight to view beyond the gas, looking longingly at the exit lol.

I'm not sure how high you need a skill to beat an exam is, but I was thinking if you lacked what's neccessary to beat it any way it would be nice if after x amount of turns you get mc saying -maybe I lack the neccessary skill- or something like that to hint at it. Then it doesn't feel like youre endlessly wandering around and getting frustrated, so you can either go back and build other skills or just decide to give up. Otherwise it would feel like wasting a lot of time on a puzzle you can't solve.. and right now I'm not sure if I am haha. Not sure if a function like this would be even possible.

I feel like I'm writing a lot about the exams. I think I'm just bad at them

Also, is it to be possible to bind the arrow keys to the wasd instead? I use my left hand and it's kind of uncomfortable to use the arrow keys.

Ah, any tips on how to do that?? I feel like I tried most options when it came to choosing my election theme - do i need certain stats/minnie points/magic beforehand??

It's not possible to get a stress fail when you have less than 10 stress - if you can find evidence of it and screenshot it, show us, because that's a bug, but it has been checked several times. *

Once you're over ten, it's rolling the dice for your stress out of 100 (with some secret modifiers). Bad luck can mean that you get a couple of fails in a row, which can make it feel like you're failing a lot even when you're not really... it averages out over time.

* - Which is why I know it's been checked several times because I kept getting annoyed whenever I'd have bad luck in testing, and made all the RNG visible for a while so I could watch it and be sure it was behaving :)

The game is intended to gently encourage specialisation partly to try and remind people that there ARE multiple solutions to each exam, and to try different things. Most exams can still be solved by generalists, it's just harder because you'll have to think outside the box more with your spells, whereas if you have higher-level spells you're more likely to have a more obvious tool. Not sure how soon I should start telling people about different solutions, though, as I want people to play around a bit and see what they can work out so far!

If you can do everything to benefit yourself in the election - join both chorale and sports club, have William's support, have a high enough stat in one magic type to help study, take the advance so you can buy all the election materials, call yourself Golden Eagle (or possibly Wolf King, haven't tested it), and go to chorale the night before - she should show up on the 11th to make the offer! I'm not sure if smart or personality of the MC matters, but my smarts were up to 30 and I had a sporty/scheming personality.

Ah, I'll try to pay closer attention - I check my stress at the beginning of each week, so it's possible my perception of below 10 comes from weeks when I started at 8 or 9 and then failed during the week and forgot to account for the added stress. I'll keep an eye on that now!

Nice to know my bad luck at RNG follows me everywhere! I've had multiple weeks of starting at 10-12 stress where I fail 3-4 times! I almost always get 1 magic point instead of 2 from classes too, and since I'd been trying so hard to win the student council election before finding out I'd never be able to win outright, I've never had the money for any of the boosters at the magic shop. I have such bad luck at gacha game rolls that I keep a tally of how often I actually get stuff I want from games of random luck. It's... very rare. 8'D

Nah, don't worry, they're tricky. And prone to bugs. And they get adjusted as we try to work out what can and can't be done. So talking about them a lot is good.

With that spell list, I think you may be stuck on that exam. But at least you know where the exit is!

Black Magic hints for exam 3:

You can't make a bridge over the hole (this is a change from the first game) but you CAN find a use for Shape Stone.
Have you noticed that you can Shape walls into other things?
What happens if you reshape a wall between two walkable squares?
What spell can help you find out if there's a walkable square hidden behind a wall?

Trying not to be too explicit.

Exam 2- I'm playing around and trying to increase different stats and see what could be done :D I got emphaty but it didn't do much, then I tried black magic and got detect charm. I cast it at the carving, and now I get the message the carving has moved every time I walk on that square. So now I've tried pressing one & both carvings but the gas always turn back on after one turn. Since the hint said to try and try again I tried pressing many times, hehe. There is no way to move the piles of rock by the carvings onto the carving so it permanently pushes the button down? xD MC, you have hands! :P

Also, I managed to join my first secret society~

Manual labor is beneath him! :)

Not sure why it's telling you that the carving has moved though, thats probably a bug.
