Deleting all my achievements
Deleting all my achievements
How do I delete all my in-game achievements?
I'd like to start the game over completely from scratch and unlock everything from the start. (mainly to see all the new stuff added in I may have otherwise missed)

On Steam you can't.
On your local copy, if you look for your savegame folder and delete everything in it except your license key, it will wipe out the knowledge of things you've unlocked.

Re: Deleting all my achievements
Thanks! May need to Redownload it again. Looking at some topics, apparently a lot has changed. (Talarist is actually more redeeming and less of a complete psychopath?)
I've actually tried deleting every last LLTQ file I had then redownloading it but Steam apparently backs up all relevant data to a save cloud....
Pretty convenient I have to say, though this is one of the rare cases where it's proven inconvenient.

No, there is no save cloud! You need to look at your actual savegame folder and not the steam install folder. Where that is depends on what OS you are using.

I actually deleted all my copies of LLTQ on my computer, including the non-Steam one. Can I please get another download for it?

Okay I'm in the Long Live the Queen folder in my Steam Apps folder.
I see folders for "common," "game", "lib" and "renpy." I'm not sure what folder the saved games are in or what the name of the folder/file is.
I'm also using Windows 7 Professional, 2009.

Go into the location bar of an Explorer window; type %APPDATA%\RenPy\LongLiveTheQueen\ . (Other Ren'Py games' saves also live under %APPDATA%\RenPy on Windows)
'persistent' is the file you want to delete.

You'll also want to remove 'achievements' (though IIRC that only is actually read back if you're running in Steam, in which case the cheeves will also be regenerated from your Steam account and so it won't actually make a difference.)
Re: Deleting all my achievements
Thanks! Deaths and epilogues are now gone but, alas, achievements still remain. Oh well.

Re: Deleting all my achievements
If you started a Steam version, it'll get the achievements from your Steam account and put them back in. (For extra confusion points, this is actually nothing to do with the save cloud API - we don't have save cloud, we DO have cheeve synchronization.)
Re: Deleting all my achievements
.... which is the first he's told me of it.

Re: Deleting all my achievements
I did it with a downloaded from Hanako site copy and hurray it worked!
Never thought I'd be happy to delete years worth of saved games, heh. Then again, now that everything in the game's changed so much I need some way to measure progress when doing everything again.
