Lucille (spoilers!)

#1 Post by GreenRowan » Thu Jun 28, 2012 9:30 am

I keep seeing that's it's possible to gain Lucille as an ally by giving her a court office. What needs to happen to trigger this? She just grabs Charlotte, goes home, and tries to kill Elodie over and over.

I hate having to always send assassins after her in the end.

You meet Lucille again at the Gala. If you pass the right check, that will trigger the option to recruit her. (I found this one quite hard to do but it is possible.)

Thanks, Chouette. I'll go back and try to figure out which skills I need.

You mean there's a way to give her a court position without the gala event? O:

A certain someone who doesn't want Elodie having heirs will try to discourage you from thinking about marriage if she happens to be around at the end of the game. :)

Oh, can I ask why making Lucille Lumen Minister will stop her from trying to kill you? Given how she's been trying so hard to make Charlotte become Queen, it seems a bit strange how she'll give up all her plans because she's satisfied with her own position as a Lumen Minister.

Oh I keep hiring the spy all the time so I seldom get that. Does getting that prevent Elodie from getting married?

Eh, I'd rather not give a detailed explanation. Letting people fill in theories from what's actually in the game is more fun. :)

That's not the only thing that makes her back off, though. She does usually stop trying to kill you after your coronation. And there's at least one epilogue variant where she has a good shot at poisoning you and decides to pass on it, if you've given her something else she wanted (not the Lumen position).

Prevent in total, no, but it delays it and means you don't get as much choice over the outcome.

Wait, does keeping Lucille alive cause Elodie to become barren and unable to have children in the epilogue all the time?

Aww, but I've always wanted to know what exactly was Lucille's motivation! This is just making me more curious. XD

What is that something else?

Not always! There are several ways around that. But yes, that was her causing trouble again.

Woah. I never got that ending, her being barren I mean. I wanted to play Elodie as a little naive so I had her be powerful enough to sense the truth but just be like COME AND JOIN ME AUNTIE. Maybe if you have more magic than her? I'm not sure how I did it at all XD

We should really just have a Lucille topic, because she's pretty interesting.

I think she just secretly loves me. Whenever I keep her around I'm nice to her so she always ends up never screwing me over. It really depends on the Elodie I'm playing. Naive loving Elodie gives her Aunt anything at every opportunity, because she loves her Aunt and wants to support her remaining family. Evil Elodie sacrifices her daughter to the kraken. XD
