Have it Your Way - contest

#1 Postby hanako » Wed Jun 09, 2010 6:53 am

I'm pondering a little contest for people who've completed the game, but I want to see if there's any interest in this idea.

Basically, the idea will be to write a story of what happens to the characters after any particular ending (you'll pick which one). Then for the winning entry, I'll commission the same artist who did the game CGs to do an illustration for your outcome.

These will NOT go into the actual game - I like the ambiguity right where it is. :) But this is a chance to have the ending you personally want to see. Janet and Nathaniel have a giant Bollywood wedding? Linds and Rafael turn themselves into combinable mecha?

So - anyone think this sounds like a fun idea?

You may be able to tell from the other posts that I did, but yes! I would TOTALLY love to have this contest. Pity you don't intend on curbing some of the ambiguity, but at least I'd get to see my personal ending in life.

But who would select the winner?

Sounds interesting. I like writing so it would be fun, of course if I enter or not depends on if I can get the perfect inspiration in time for the contest.

Probably I'd set up a poll for the forum members to vote; in case of a tie Spiky Caterpillar and I would pick.

I like this contest idea, too, although as mentioned, only those who have bought the full version and completed it would be able to participate so that would significantly lower the number of participants. Still, it would be fun to read the entries. :)

I'll post the details when I do my next newsletter mailout - I'm waiting on the CKK mac port to say that it's ready to go, then I can announce the updated link for DW and the contest. (The new version of DW is already out for new customers and any old customer who wants it can ask for it, but I want to do all the announcements in a big lump, see.)

That sounds awesome! I'm totally in! A whole lot of the endings were very thought-provoking and could inspire great fanfics.
