Boarding school is terribly depressing. Maybe they were trying to teach her Court Manners and failing miserably?

Because his grandfather simply isn't capable enough to keep Talarist's assassins away. Talarist isn't even going to try anything with Armand, let alone Arisse (!!), but Adair's grandfather is not nearly as able a guardian.

Brin & Banion

Laurent, Lucille and Charlotte

Joslyn

Arisse, Kevan, Anciet & Briony

Togami, if you count that upstart musician as a noble. :P

Sadly, that isn't enough to properly wreck the kingdom. The duchies will just be inherited by lesser nobles or new creations.

Hm. I thought that pissing off Arisse's family (Arisse, Kevan, possibly Corisande) was enough to make Bad Things Happen. Must test!

Nobles don't care about your taxes and money management AFAIK. It's your treasury, not theirs! Civil war depends more on Arisse and her agenda than anything else, so pissing off Kevan and Talarist (or marrying Talarist, she hates that) and sending Adair to his grandfather or to Armand are how you se...

Even then, you really have to piss Julianna off for her to vote against you.

Julianna's like Arisse in that. If she turns against you, you more than had it coming.
