Seeing how Elodie reacts when you do and don't pass checks is so much fun XD I just cracked up when I rejected the Duke of Sedna's suit before polishing up her court manners and she replied, "I am NOT marrying you! I'm only fourteen!" ...

Not to mention how much time was spent researching things XD It certainly adds a lot of flavor to the game ^_^ And another level of immersion, since in most games like this you don't know what all your character knows.
