Re: Wolf Hall - Development Testing Thread

Tonight's patch (0.5.48) makes the larger body save correctly. (It won't fix old saves, but hopefully there aren't that many of them yet)

Re: Wolf Hall - Development Testing Thread

I believe the save glitch has to do with the change to move-reporting, which makes it much more likely in the practice dungeons where the Training Dummy may be moving around. We're working on it. What I've tried seems to be consistent with this. Every time I kill all the dummies with something like...

Re: Wolf Hall - Development Testing Thread

Changelog for 0.5.25: * Setting the text window brightness back to 0 no longer triggers save warnings whining about bg_brightness. (You should get the warning at most one more time.) * Resetting video settings to default now turns off wing cropping. * Note about spellcard pulled from Sacrifice spell...

0.5.24 changelog

I've put in a better fix for the call stack bug (files are loaded in alphabetical order, so on Itch on Windows Ren'Py would still think that labels in files loaded before the file with the fix were under lib/windows-i686.). The rest of the saves which previously loaded with a call stack error should...

Re: Wolf Hall - Development Testing Thread

Alternately I could be missing a "back up 1 screen" option if it exists. The page up key and the mouse wheel both allow you to roll back to prior screens (and even to change decisions if you clicked the wrong button!) in normal play. In the dungeon they allow you to view prior text but not to chang...

Re: Wolf Hall - Development Testing Thread

Saves which previously complained about discarding labels in lib/windows-i686/ will now load correctly. (The underlying problem was that apparently when you start the game from Itch on Windows it changes to lib/windows-i686/, thinks all files live there, and then choked on load because my code was j...

Re: Wolf Hall - Development Testing Thread

Changelog for 0.5.23 (should be live on Itch shortly): A grammar-related crash ($Vines is not a valid text tag) in some interactions with the vines in exam1 fixed. Inspecting a certain place in exam 1 now gives you more informative feedback. The sparkle in exam1 now moves to the correct destination,...

:( I'm sad the bunny didn't appear when I equipped it.
Oops, I mistyped the code that uploads the yearbook pages. Send me the URL to your character's page and I'll see if I can add a bunny to it.

Re: Troubleshooting / Bug Reports

I just installed InstallMagicalDiary1.1.4.exe and kept this error every time I try to start the game. I'm sorry, but an uncaught exception occurred. ... File "C:\Program Files\Magical Diary - Horse Hall\renpy\display\controller.py", line 133, in event start(ev.which) File "C:\Program Files\Magical ...

Re: Update problem

Update: you're right, that crash is caused by installing the demo without uninstalling the full game. I'm not sure if the uninstaller works right with updates (or partial updates), so it will probably be easiest if you install the demo in a separate folder and then click the 'Register Game' option o...

Re: Update problem

I suspect the bug is triggered by the preferences for the full version being present, but I'll look into it a little more and see if I can fix it. Were you using a translation patch?

Re: Update problem

Okay, it looks like there may be a bug in the update code for the version you have installed; the easiest way around it is probably to download the most recent Long Live The Queen demo from spikycaterpillar.com or hanakogames.com and update it to the newest version.

Re: Update problem

What operating system are you using, and what version of Long Live The Queen do you have? (It should show you the version number(s) on the update screen). Do you have a file named 'safepickle.py' in the game folder?

Re: Troubleshooting / Bug Reports

I tried updating from version 1.0.32 to version 1.0.42. When I try further updating, I hit a bug. I'm playing on Mac (Sierra 10.12.1). I've posted screenshots below. I get the blank page if I try to copy or scroll on the bug-description. What can I do to fix it? I really miss the soundtracks! Hm. I...

My webhost 'upgraded' the server spikycaterpillar.com is running on. The upgrade has broken the yearbook, and may have caused other problems. Luckily the update server appears to be unaffected, at least. I'm working on fixing it, but it'll take a while before everything's working again. (The good ne...
